The Wooden Tangerine

Bathroom Layout & Mood Board

When we bought our house in 2016, we immediately began planning the projects we wanted to complete within 10 years of living in our home. The bathroom was high on our list right after our kitchen.

The Porch Extravaganza

So this porch was a hidden little gem when we purchased our home almost 4 years ago now. By hidden I mean when we had our showing for this house (and fell in love with it of course) the porch was FULL of outdoor furniture and other storage items. Filling in Oak Wood Grain

Let me just start with this: Oak is beautiful. I feel like it has gotten a bad name lately. I don’t think that it’s the wood itself, its just been over used, especially with the golden yellow-orange stain color of the late 1990’s and early 2000’s. Learn how I filled in the oak grain to get a smooth paint finish.

The Rescue Operation

Wow it’s been a while! Life here has been busy! Between fall yard work, designing a house (with my parents–more on that in a bit) and family time, I have missed this for sure.

Book Shelf to Nightstand Conversion

We’ve all had them, those cheap particle board bookshelves that look nice but if you even think about lifting it with any number of books on it, it will crumble.

I had two left over from my college years that I didn’t manage to telepathically destroy. Read more to learn how I updated them into something that didn’t look at home in a dorm room.

DIY Dog Kennel

You may not know this about me but I am a proud dog mom. My husband and I adopted Raven a, sweet but sassy, Siberian Husky about 6 years ago.
Read how we built this kennel built fit for even the most spoiled dog.
