When we bought our house in 2016, we immediately began planning the projects we wanted to complete within 10 years of living in our home. The bathroom was high on our list right after our kitchen.
So this porch was a hidden little gem when we purchased our home almost 4 years ago now. By hidden I mean when we had our showing for this house (and fell in love with it of course) the porch was FULL of outdoor furniture and other storage items. To be fair, it was March in Minnesota and where else do you put your outdoor furniture when snow is literally covering everything?
Let me just start with this: Oak is beautiful. I feel like it has gotten a bad name lately. I don’t think that it’s the wood itself, its just been over used, especially with the golden yellow-orange stain color of the late 1990’s and early 2000’s.
